Last week I celebrated my 21st birthday. I’m officially on the much anticipated Page 2 as my mum would say. So far, page 2 is going pretty well! – Although I am only 7 days in.
3 years ago I thought by 21 I’d have finished my Nursing degree. I wanted to do my degree then move to Hawaii and do further training there to be a nurse in Honolulu (farfetched plan I know, but that’s a story for another post maybe).
The nursing idea lasted about a month and I soon found myself back at home, then a year later at another university studying a completely different degree. The year after that you’d assume I’d still be on that same degree but you’d be mistaken as I was pregnant by that point. It’s safe to say it’s been an eventful three years since I left school at 18.
Do I feel 21? I’ve been asked this a lot. Well you can’t really feel 21. What constitutes feeling 21? Do I feel like I’ve changed a lot this past year though? I’ve become a mother; so yes, I’ve undergone the biggest “transformation” of my life. You could definitely say I’ve “grown as a person”. I’m still the same girl, but I now have special powers; I produce milk like a dairy cow (perhaps a slight exaggeration) and I’ve certainly learnt the true meaning of the word multitask. (More about ‘how motherhood has changed me’ in one of my Mummy posts).
21 was without doubt one of my best birthdays so far, I had 3 days of celebrations this year; one with family, one with friends, and one with family friends. I was spoilt! (It was great). The best part of it all? I got to enjoy every day with my beautiful little girl. She made my day; she makes every day.
I did very well this year in the gift department; I honestly felt like a princess. So if you’re out of ideas what to buy your -girl- friends for their birthdays, you can’t go wrong with these:
Small Basket of Chocolates and Champagne from Marks and Spencers.
What girl doesn’t love flowers on their birthday? Or on any occasion for that matter! I got a huge bunch through the post and they were welcomed!
This is one of my favourites, a photo album with pages of parchment paper, I love how delicate it is. It was made in India. The photo does not do it justice!
I loved Paddington Bear as a child, will definitely be reading this to Maya.
This box of goodies was from one of my best friends, she included an adorable photo of us and Maya in a beautiful silver frame. Other goodies inside the box: Seychelles Signature Candle, Seychelles Home Spray, and Stoneware Heart Plate, all from The White Company, London.
Whoever created this home spray (below) got it bang on; it’s exactly how I’d want my home to smell! See www.thewhitecompany.com
I was very excited to receive this Pandora bracelet and 21 charm -again from one of my best friends- I absolutely love it!
Happy belated birthday 🙂 very fun blog and thanks for finding me, following back 🙂 peace and love, K
