“Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.”
― Calvin Coolidge
I didn’t feel particularly Christmassy in the lead up to Christmas, not even on Christmas Eve. I had to rush the wrapping of all my gifts, and didn’t manage to send cards to everyone I wanted to.
Then Christmas Day came.
With the excitement on Maia’s face as she opened her presents, my Aunty’s traditional box of Fairtrade goodies, the music, cracker pulling and all the yummy food, it very quickly felt exactly like Christmas Day.
Despite having about three functional gravy boats, we were unable to locate a single one, so made use of this oversized mug instead.
We managed to rescue Santa before Maia bit his face off.
