This stunning collection is everything I wanted this blog to represent. Colour, expression and something a little bit special.
Inspired by Mexican, European and Asian Folklore with a modern infusion of neon shades, lycra and pom poms; O’Mahony has created something magical. She incorporates embroidery, appliqué and tassels in the most adventurous yet beautiful and feminine ways; the result being a captivating array of surprises. The catwalk had never seen such a rainbow. A fabulous colour palette of “cerise, blood red, emerald green and turquoise with gold accents”; it takes a brave designer to make these colours work together. But they do. I am immediately drawn to the eye catching prints; enhanced by the finest intricate details such as the pom pom trim; which really takes the phrase final touches to a delightful new level. Folklorico is theatrical, striking and most importantly; truly one of a kind.
No doubt O’Mahony has an exciting career ahead of her and I thoroughly look forward to seeing what’s next for this audacious young designer.
