This week I took Maia to visit her Aunty Cathy. Cathy has a big family of not only humans but animals too. She lives with a dog, a cat, several chickens and gaggle of geese. It’s really quite magical and every time we go there I feel like I’m stepping into a Beatrix Potter tale.
So here are 5 things Maia loves about Aunty Cathy’s:
1.) HER BEST FRIENDS PHOEBE AND MOWGLI
This bond is life-long, Maia adores both Phoebe (the labrador) and Mowgli (the cat).
2.) CHANGING THE STRAW/COLLECTING EGGS
It’s all so very quaint, so fairy-tale and romantic, collecting eggs and using a wheelbarrow to collect straw for the hutches. (I just sort of stood and took photos of Maia..)
3.) THE GEESE
Yes they scare me a little and yes I may have very hastily moved away as they approached me then hid behind Cathy’s car. Nevertheless I love how much Maia loves them and they certainly liven up a Monday afternoon.
4.) EXPLORING NEW LANDS
Cathy’s got a wonderful garden with lots of little corners to explore.
5.) AUNTY CATHY
And of course catching up with the amazing woman herself. She’s one of the kindest, most amusing and thoughtful people and we have a lot of love for her and those adorable animals.
